Q: What is TSA Lock?
|
A: TSA screens every passenger's baggage before it is placed on an airplane. While technology allows for screening bags electronically, there are times when a piece of luggage has to be inspected physically. TSA has worked with several companies to develop locks that can be opened by security officers using universal "master" keys so that the locks may not have to be cut.
These locks are available at airports and travel stores nationwide. The packaging on the locks indicates whether they can be opened by TSA. In addition to the United States, the system is used at all Canadian airports controlled by CATSA - the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority, at Tokyo’s Narita and Haneda airports by security agencies, in the United Kingdom by customs agencies for HMRC, also by the Netherlands Tax and Customs Administration, Germany Zoll and New Zealand Customs Service.

Q: There is a key hole next to my TSA combination lock, but I cannot find a key in my luggage to open it, why?
|
A: The key hole next to the dials is for the use of TSA agent only. This is why you will not be provided a key with this luggage.
